The department has forecast generally cloudy conditions across the Himalayan and hilly regions, Madhesh Province, and the Terai areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. The remaining Terai districts are expected to remain partly cloudy.
Moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at several places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Similarly, moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected at several places in Madhesh and the Terai areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Isolated rainfall is also possible in the Terai districts of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim.
The department said Nepal remains under the influence of monsoon winds, with a partial influence of westerly winds. The monsoon trough is currently positioned south of its average location.
Meteorologists have also noted the formation of a low-pressure area over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining regions, which is expected to strengthen and move west-northwestward over the coming days.
On Monday, temperatures are forecast to reach 35–37°C in Bhairahawa and Simara, while Kathmandu is expected to record a maximum of 29–31°C and a minimum of 18–20°C.
