U-19 national cricket
KATHMANDU: The Wai-Wai U-19 National Cricket Tournament is scheduled for June 1-9 at the Tribhuvan University Stadiums, said Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) said. CAN formed a nine-member tournament organising committee under the chairmanship of Upendra Prasad Bhattarai. Meanwhile, Region-3 (Kathmandu) Senior Cricket Selection Tournament is slated for May 19-28. Five teams — Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Nuwakot and Tribhuvan University — will participate in the tournament. — HNS

LALITPUR: Robin Shrestha scored five goals alone as Suvatara International School beat Panchakanya School 5-1 in the Coca Cola Cup Inter-school Football at the ANFA Technical Centre, Chyasal on Wednesday. Also, Shree Kamana School blanked Shree Vidhya Mandir 5-0, Pacific Academy beat Pawan Prakriti 2-1, Budhanilkantha defeated Emerald School 3-1. In Satdobato, Rupak Memorial edged Namgyal 2-0, Man Singh Dharma School beat Deepmala 2-1 and New Buddha Prakash beat Hari Siddhi School 2-0. — HNS
Inter-bank volleyball
KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank ‘red’, the host team, registered an easy 25-14, 25-8 win over Global Bank on the opening day of the Inter-bank Volleyball Tournament here on Wednesday. In other matches of the day, Kumari Bank defeated Nepal Bangladesh Bank 25-17, 25-9 and Machhapuchhre Bank beat Everest Bank 25-15, 26-24. Earlier, Krishna Bahadur Manandhar, NRB deputy governor, inaugurated the tournament. — HNS
Ultimatum extended
KATHMANDU: The Joint Struggle Committee (JSC) on Wednesday extended its ultimatum to ANFA until Sunday morning. The JSC had previously demanded the ANFA officials to resign by Thursday evening or else face lockdown in its office. “If our demands are not met, we will padlock the ANFA office at 11pm on Sunday, the JSC release said. — HNS
