Mukherjee inaugurates campus building

Kathmandu, May 22:

Indian Ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee today inaugurated the newly constructed campus and library building of the Makwanpur Multiple Campus in Hetauda.

The building was constructed with a grant assistance of Rs 20.36 million from the Indian government.

Yesterday, Mukherjee laid the foundation stone for a building of the Madi Campus in Chitwan amidst a public function.

The building is being constructed with a grant assistance of Rs 8.72 million from the Indian government.

According to a press release issued by the Indian embassy here today, the Madi Campus was established in 1996 with local initiatives and offers management and educational courses to over 300 students.

It said the Makwanpur Multiple Campus that was established in 1981 currently has over 3,000 students taking courses in humanities, social sciences, BBS and MBS.

“The Ambassador of India underlined the importance of educational infrastructure for Nepal’s national development and highlighted the primacy being given to the educational sector in the Indo-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme,” the statement said.

“He reiterated the commitment of the government and the people of India to support the people of Nepal in their efforts to seek peace, stability and development,” it added.
