Kathmandu, May 29:

Government employees today staged a demonstration on the premises of the House of Representatives, when the Parliamentary Administration Reform Monitoring Committee (ARMC) was preparing to discuss the Bill related to Civil Service.

The situation turned worse after police intervened during the demonstration. The employees took out rallies for an hour in Singha Durbar while the non-gazetted employees demonstrated at the main gates in the South and West of Singha Durbar.

The government drivers created obstacles by parking cars at the gates, compelling the government’s senior officers to enter the Singha Durbar on foot.

The ARMC continued to discuss the Bill but could not reach any conclusion.
