KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 22
The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organised a three-day Phoksundo Art Exhibition in Dolpa as part of its #photoNepal initiative, showcasing 15 Thangka paintings by artist Tenzing Wangdak.
The exhibition was held from September 18 to 20 at Samdu Phaten Gumpa, at an altitude of 3,611.5 metres, and also featured a cultural programme.
According to the NTB, the exhibition aimed to promote Nepal's natural and cultural heritage by bringing visual art to a remote Himalayan destination.
NTB Senior Officer and #photoNepal Exhibition Initiative lead Sudhan Subedi said the initiative seeks to connect artists, local communities and visitors through visual storytelling.
Initiated in 2016, #photoNepal has featured exhibitions at various destinations and venues in Nepal and abroad. The NTB revived the exhibition series in 2025 and marked its 100th edition with an exhibition in Kathmandu in November that year.
The Phoksundo exhibition was organised in collaboration with Phar Gallery, Terchhu Nirman Sewa Pvt Ltd, Vajra Prints and Explore Dolpo Trek & Expedition Pvt Ltd.
