CEDBL’s new scheme

KATHMANDU: Clean Energy Development Bank Ltd (CEDBL) has launched two different schemes ‘Khata Clean Energy Bankma, Upahar Tapainko Haatma’, targeting women depositors. The first is ‘Naari Bachat Khata’ in which one can open an account without any minimum amount. Every month one lucky winner will be awarded a golden locket worth Rs 10,000 and a necklace worth Rs 25,000 every three month under this scheme. Accountholders will also get free debit cards and internet banking facility as well as 50 per cent discount on safe lockers, states a bank press release here. While the second scheme is on fixed deposit of a minimum one year. Under this scheme, three lucky winners will be chosen every month and the first one will get 10 gram gold coin, the second and third will get 100 gram and 50 gram silver coin respectively. — HNS

Traders’ protest

PARASI: Citing the police administration’s inactivity to apprehend the thief, traders of Nawalparasi district headquarters Parasi bazaar halted all business and shut enterprises since 9 am today. Birendra Kumar Agrahari, president of Nawalparasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the business and enterprises were closed to exert pressure on the police administration to be active to control the increasing theft and dacoity in the district. Seven computers including a laptop and a TV set were stolen from the Dotcom House of Parasi last night, said proprietor Shreedhar Basyal. — RSS
