The Civil Society Network for Peace, by issuing a press statement yesterday, accused the Royal Nepal Army of violating human rights by killing four Maoists in Kaski after arresting them on June 30. The network has reached this conclusion after monitoring the two separate incidents in which the Maoists were shot dead by the forces, the statement said. The statement said that the security forces shot dead two Maoists, Usha Lamichhane (Pragya, 22) of Lamjung and Kopila Rana (Suman) of Kaski, after arresting them from Ghalekhor of Lawangaghale VDC and taking them to main road. Similarly, it said the forces shot dead Kumar Bista and Navraj Neupane at Ward No 1 at Lawangaghale VDC, Kaski, on June 30 after arresting them from a local shop and taking them 400m away in the north. According to the network, security forces had even buried the bodies of the Maoists at a nearby place. It said the forces had asked local people for digging tools. The security forces had said the four Maoists were gunned down during two separate operations in Lawangaghale VDC.
