Biratnagar, August 23:
President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati Shamsher Rana has said that the RPP and the Janashakti Party will get united before the constituent assembly polls. Talking to journalists here today, he said discussions and consultations on the unification process are going on. The failure to hold the polls will end the legitimacy of the current interim government, Rana said.
“The law and order situation is not satisfactory. Insecurity continues to grip the Tarai,” Rana said, questioning, “How can the Home Minister hold the polls in such a situation?” There is no possibility of holding the polls, he said, adding that the law and order situation is bad due to Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula.
“The RPP has urged the House to appoint a new Home Minister,” Rana said. Urging Sitaula to resign without delay as “such a feeble Home Minister cannot hold the polls”, he said, “We need someone with a strong command.”
Urging the Maoists to stop anarchic activities, he said the polls cannot be held otherwise.
