Kathmandu, August 31:
Members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Nepali Congress (NC) today expressed concern over the “unchanged” law and order situation in the country.
The CWC met for the second day today at the official residence of the party’s
president and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
Koirala was present in today’s meeting of the central working committee.
Several CWC members of the party took strong exception of what they called he “unchanged” security situation at a time when the constituent assembly election is almost at hand.
They criticised Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula for not being able to maintain law and order.
The central working committee members also accused the Maoists of not abiding by the 12-point agreement signed with the other political parties.
They slammed the Maoist party for not returning plots of land seized by it during the decade-long insurgency.
They also condemned the violent incidents that have been occurring in the Tarai region.
The meeting, that remained inconclusive today, will resume sometime later, the party said.
