Mahendranagar, September 2:

Nine employees of the Mahendranagar City Development Committee (MCDC), including its chief, today resigned en masse.

MCDC chief Krishna Bahadur Chand, engineer Bharat Rawal, Tekraj Pant, Krishna Prasad Pathak, Nara Bahadur Chand, Om Prakash Bist, Lal Bahadur Okheda, Baburam Rana and Kalyandatta Bhatt resigned en masse, chairperson of the MCDC Kanturam Paneru said.

Except for chief Chand, all the staffers were working in the office for 15 years. They resigned as the MCDC could not provide salary and facilities to them, Kanturam Paneru said. KB Chand admitted that the MCDC’s income was decreasing and that it has been facing financial crisis since the royal regime. “An irregularity of Rs 7.5 million was reported during the royal regime,” Kanturam Paneru said.
