Speaker’s call for polls
DHARAN: Speaker Subas Nembang on Saturday said the issue of an ethnic state could be taken positively after the CA polls. Addressing an interaction on ‘Limbuwan Ethnic Autonomy’ organised by Kirant Yakthung Chumlung, he said: “Libuwans’ demand is not wrong itself, however, the appropriate place for raising and settling such demand is the CA.” He urged agitators not to disrupt the constituent assembly elections. — HNS
Dysentery claims one
RAJBIRAJ: A four-year-old child, Mustak Jaharuddin, son of Mohamad Jaharuddin at Topa bazaar of Bamangamakatti VDC died of dysentery on Friday evening. Over 34 persons are suffering from the disease at Topa and they are undergoing treatment in primary health post and in Rajbiraj, locals said. Senior public health officer Rakesh Kumar Thakur said that a team of health workers has been sent to the affected area. — HNS
Girl crushed to death
MAKWANPUR: A girl of Churiyamai VDC in Makwanpur district died after a log crushed her to death on Friday. A log crushed 18-year-old Urmila Bamjan from Ratmate of the village development committee to death, police said, adding she died on the way to the Hetauda Hospital. — RSS
Boy drowns
NARAYANGARH: A seven year-old Ujjawal Lamichhane who was a student of grade I at Jyotinagar-based Jaman Singh Rastriya Primary School drowned to death in the Anjanatal stream on Friday evening. Ujjawal fell into the stream from a guava tree in the field, locals said. — HNS
70 villagers fall ill
SARLAHI: Some 70 people have been affected by an unknown disease spread in Narayankhola-3 of Sarlahi district. The victims are suffering from high fever and appearance of boils on the neck, but the disease has not been identified yet, said local health workers. A team of health workers led by Dr Shailendra Sigdel has been dispatched to work to identify and control the disease, Chief of the District Public Health Office, Arun Kumar Jha, said. — RSS
