Covid-19 infections in Kathmandu Valley rise by 58 on Friday

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 05

Kathmandu valley recorded as many as 58 new cases of the coronavirus infection, on Friday.

Of the newly infected persons, 33 are females while 25 are males.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 43 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported 12 new cases while Bhaktapur logged three cases, today. At present, there are 1,280 active coronavirus cases in Kathmandu while the number of the same in Lalitpur is 50 and that in Bhaktapur is 15.

500 people have succumbed to the contagion in Kathmandu while 160 fatalities have been reported in Lalitpur and 115 in Bhaktapur, so far.

Meanwhile, the total number of people who have recovered from the disease in Kathmandu is 99,937 while 15,863 people have recovered in Lalitpur and 9,105 in Bhaktapur.

Today, 105 new cases of Covid-19 surfaced in the country following which the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 271,707.

The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 2,035 with two Covid-related fatalities logged today.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Bhojpur, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the four districts with zero live infections, as of today.
