From noon till around five in the evening, people were cheering, clapping, giving high fives, and cursing with each new round of ‘Bowl for a Cause’ event at the Bowling Alley at 1905. It was very happening at the Bowling Alley on September 20 as teams from various corporate houses competed with each other for a worthy cause — raising funds for the Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children (HRDC). Proving their flair for the game, the US Embassy came out the winners with a total of 709 points. Buddha Air with its enthusiastic team was second with 661 points whereas the third place was taken by Speed Way scoring 657 points.

The winners received a one-night stay at Gokarna Forest Resort & Spa, the second prize was one-night stay at Shangri-la Village, Pokhara. The third prize winners got a gift voucher from HRDC.

“This event is organised to create awareness about the hospital. Till now we have helped almost 31,000 physically challenged children in our 23 years of service,” said Krishna P Bhattarai, Executive Director, HRDC.

The event was able to generate Rs 20,000 solely for HRDC.

The other participating teams were NIC Bank, Global Bank, Nepal Investment Bank, JNT Associates, Value One, NRN Kathmandu and Youth Bowling Club.
