Kathmandu:
What can be more relaxing and luxurious than delicious food, mesmerising music, exotic dance and refreshing massage, and that too at the same place?
You don’t have to go far to find such a paradise — this bliss is on offer at the Thai Food Festival at Hotel Shangri La from September 21.
A press meet was organised on September 20 at the hotel premises on the total Thai package which was attended by Raju Bikram Shah, General Manager of Shangri La Hotel, Prasert Tanhansa, General Manager for Thai Airways (Nepal and Bhutan), and Saowalak Chaichuson, Counsellor at the Thai Embassy.
“Our hotel has always been known for bringing about innovative changes. This time we are bringing authentic Thai food for all to try and relish. Four chefs have been flown in from Thailand to give that exotic and authentic taste to all dishes being prepared,” said Shah.
So get ready to enjoy lip-smacking dishes like Yum woonsen, Goong tod kratiem, Red Thai curry, Som Tam and many more.
The festival is on at the Shambala Garden Café and will be inaugurated by the Thai ambassador. Along with delicious food there will be two traditional Thai dancers performing for the guests, who will also have the chance to enjoy traditional Thai massage, that will be done by professionals. However, the dance and massage will be offered only on the opening day.
“I hope the event will not only be an opportunity for the local people, expats and tourists try our authentic food, but that it will also help them get a taste of our culture,” said Chaichuson.
The event will continue till October 5.
All guests will be asked to leave their visiting cards, and at the end of the event one lucky winner will win a two-way ticket to Bangkok.
The event is supported by the Thai Embassy and Thai Airways.
