Dhading, September 27:

The CPN-UML Dhading chapter today withdrew its indefinite Dhading bandh called after the Maoists attacked 30 of its activists on Wednesday.

The decision to withdraw the bandh came after UML MPs Rajendra Prasad Pandey, Ram Nath Adhikari and Maoist trade union chairman Shalikram Jamarkattel held parleys.

Meanwhile, Ranjana Thapaliya of Dhusa-1 was injured on Thursday when a passenger bus heading to Kathmandu from Chitwan hit her at Katritar on the Prithvi Highway. Ranjana was referred to Kathmandu for treatment, the Gajuri Hospital said.

Today’s bandh had its impact, with Dhandingbesi bazaar and all other main bazaars of the district remaining shut. No vehicle plied on Tribhuwan Highway, Prithi Highway and Kalu Pandey Marg.

UML activists put up roadblocks near Khani river along Tribhuwan Highway and at Dharke, Mahadevbesi, Baireni, Adamghat, Gajurel and Mallukhel along Prithvi Highway.

Political parties in the district have condemned the attack on the UML men.

In separate press statements, human rights organisations, members of civil society and different other organisations have demanded action against the guilty persons.
