Eight houses buried

BAGLUNG: A landslide triggered by incessant rainfall buried eight houses at Lasti and Phorse villages of Nangliwang-9 in Parvat on Friday night. The houses included that of Dinanath Acharya at Lasti and four houses of Bikash KC, Shiva Shrestha, Dhruba KC and Jeet Bahadur KC at Phorse respectively, the police said, adding that no casualty was reported. — HNS

Mishap claims one

PYUTHAN: One Boghe Rai Magar, 24, of Dhungegadhi-3 in Pyuthan was killed when a bus hit him at Baddanda bazaar in the Bhaluwang-Pyuthan road section on Friday night. Following the death, locals disrupted traffic on the road demanding compensation to the Magar family, the police said. The road obstruction also stranded hundreds of passengers of over 40 vehicles. —HNS

Snakebite kills one

SIRAHA: A 33-year-old woman, Pushpa Devi Gupta of Saraswar-4 in Siraha, died of snakebite on Friday night. Gupta, who was bitten by a poisonous snake at her house on Friday evening, died undergoing treatment at the Siraha District Hospital, her family said. — HNS

Youth abducted

SIRAHA: Cadres of the JTMM-J on Friday abducted a youth, Laxmeshwor Shah, 25, of Itatariprasahi-4. Shah was abducted on the charge of not giving donation to the party, JTMM-J area no-3 in-charge Hitler Singh said. Shah had returned to his village after working in a foreign country a week ago. — HNS
