Nepali team leaves for AFC U-19 qualifiers

Lalitpur, November 4:

The Nepali youth national team today left for Uzbekistan to participate in the AFC Under-19 Championship qualifying foot-ball tournament to be held in Tashkent from November 6-14.

Bikash Singh Chhetry was named the skipper of the 20-member squad which includes Rupak Shrestha, Robin Shrestha, Biraj Maharjan, Dipak Bhusal, Roshan Karki, Ranjit Shrestha, Dipendra Shrestha, Chetan Ghimire, Bharat Khawas, Anil Ojha, Pravin Karki, Buddha Raj Limbu, Amar Subba, Anil Tamang, Pukar BK, Swastik Jung Basista, Laxman Ruchal, Sandip Thapa and Kiran Kumar Limbu.

Raju Kaji Shakya is the coach of the team and Megh Raj KC the assistant coach. Nepal are drawn in Group D along with Jordon, hosts Uzbekistan, Palestine and Yemen.

Nepal will play against Jordon on November 6 before taking on Uzbekistan (November 10), Palestine (November 12) and Yamen (November 14).

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) president Ganesh Thapa bade farewell to the team.
