TU results out

KATHMANDU: The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) of the Tribhuvan University on Tuesday published the result of the examination of MA First Year in Linguistics (new curriculum) under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held in 2063 BS. The OCE also published the result of the examination of MA First Year in History under new curriculum. — RSS

Nepali students up

KATHMANDU: The number of Nepali students enrolled in colleges and universities in the United States has increased by 27.9 per cent, according to a report published by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The IIE is an independent non-profit exchange organisation based in New York. The IIE’s Open Door-2007 report states that Nepali students’ enrolment has increased to 7,754 in the 2006/07 academic year of the US from 6,061 in the previous year. This increase makes Nepal the thirteenth leading country of origin of international students in the US. — RSS

Editor appointed

KATHMANDU: Kundan Aryal has been appointed the Editor of Himal Khabarpatrika fortnightly. Prior to this, Aryal was the General Secretary of the Informal Sector Services Centre and has served as the editor of Dristi and Budhabar weeklies. Aryal was appointed following the resignation by Editor Shiva Gaunle, who decided to devote himself to the Federation of Nepali Journalists. Gaunle is the Vice-President of the FNJ. — RSS

Bid to build temple

MADHYAPUR THIMI: A seven-day-long Srimadbhagawat Saptaha Gyan Mahayagya will be held beginning from November 20 to build a temple of Bandevi, a shelter and pavements in Bishnubir Community Forest (BCF) in Balkumari of Madhyapur Thimi. A Organising Committee has been constituted under the initiative of the BCF’s Users’ Committee for the management of the Mahayagya. — RSS
