Kathmandu Valley logs 66 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday

Kathmandu district records 48 new cases, Lalitpur 13, and Bhaktapur 5

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 06

Kathmandu valley recorded as many as 66 new cases of the coronavirus infection, on Saturday.

Of the newly infected persons, 32 are females while 34 are males.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 48 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported 13 new cases while Bhaktapur logged five cases, today. At present, there are 1,203 active coronavirus cases in Kathmandu while number of the same in Lalitpur is 51 and that in Bhaktapur is 17.

500 people have succumbed to the contagion in Kathmandu while 160 fatalities have been reported in Lalitpur and 115 in Bhaktapur, so far.

Meanwhile, total number of people who have recovered from the disease in Kathmandu is 100,062 while 15,875 people have recovered in Lalitpur, and 9,108 in Bhaktapur.

Today, 99 new cases of Covid-19 surfaced in the country following which the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 271,806.

The nationwide death-toll remains at 2,035 with no fatalities logged today.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Bhojpur, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the four districts with zero live infections.
