KATHMANDU: The Dahal-Nepal faction of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has expelled Prime Minister KP Sharma from general membership.
The decision was taken at the standing committee meeting held today as Oli failed to produce explanation to his recent moves as sought by party leadership.
Dahal-Nepal faction on Monday had dropped a letter at the PM's residence in Baluwatar.
Oli had been accused of violating party statute by the splinter group.
Earlier, the faction had removed Oli as the party chair.
Recently, leaders representing the two factions have been engaging in back-and-forth verbal accusations and slander in public.
