Arsenal beat Chelsea for the first time in three years, winning 1-0 and maintaining their lead atop the Premier League.

William Gallas headed in a corner from Cesc Fabregas in first-half injury time at Emirates Stadium to keep Arsenal one point ahead of Manchester United, who beat Liverpool 1-0.

Spanish La Liga

MADRID: Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wesley Sneijder scored a goal each to lead Real Madrid over Osasuna 2-0 and re-establish their four-point lead at the top the Spanish league on Sunday.

The victory guaranteed that Madrid, who have 38 points, will go into the two-week winter break as league leaders.
