DAMAULI, FEBRUARY 6

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel today reiterated that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and President Bidhya Devi Bhandari had violated the constitution by dissolving the House of Representatives.

Speaking at an interaction organised by Reporters Club Nepal, Gandaki Province, in Damauli, Tanahun, today, Paudel held that the prime minister and the president had violated the constitution and everyone had to protest against the unconstitutional move.

Paudel said that he was quite hopeful that the Supreme Court would reinstate the House of Representatives.

He added that a new political dimension could be seen in the country due to the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders' inability to resolve the party's internal disputes.

Paudel said that no new development activities had taken place in the villages during Oli's rule.

He added that his party could move ahead for a joint protest against the unconstitutional move. Paudel said that he was not there to beg for votes, but to know about the problems of the people.

On a different note, Paudel said that the party's General Convention would be held after the confirmation of active members.

Responding to a query about the party's next president, Paudel said that it would be too early to speak on that subject.
