Reconstruction of Siddikali temple begins

Madhyapur Thimi, Dec 24:

Locals of Siddhikali in Madhyapur Thimi today began the reconstruction of the historic Siddhikali temple, also known as Chamunda Devi temple.

Ganesh Prajapati, president of the committee formed for the renovation, laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the two-storey temple.

The temple was slightly tilted towards the south due to the great earthquake of 1934 and was in a dilapidated state. Shree Krishna Prajapati, secretary of the committee, said: “The temple is being reconstructed with financial support from the municipality and GTZ’s Urban Development though Local Effort (Udle) project.”

According to the committee, GTZ has provided Rs 4.25 lakh and the Madhyapur Thimi Municipality has provided Rs 100,000 for the reconstruction.
