KATHMANDU:

A two-week Hornby Regional School is being organised by the British Council Nepal, with support from Global Action Nepal (GAN), the Nepal English Language Teaching

Association (NELTA) and Ministry for Education is from January 7 to 18 at Radisson Hotel. The training is being held for the second time in Nepal.

The theme this year is — developing the language skills of primary and secondary school teachers through loop learning.

The programme was made especially based on classroom language and interactive methodology. International teacher-trainers and experts in English language teaching methodology, Sue Leather, Adrian Tennant and Radmila Popovic are in Nepal to conduct

the sessions. The participants are from different parts of Nepal and countries like Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Various workshops and seminars are being conducted along with practical demonstrations. To make the training more effective the participants also conduct training for local teachers at Galaxy Public School, after they complete their classes in the morning sessions.
