Kathmandu, February 6:
A high-level meeting held at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies today decided to supply petroleum products by further strengthening security measures.
According to secretary at the Ministry Purushottam Ojha, the meeting decided to provide the fuel to those pumps that send tankers to fetch the petroleum products.
He also said the government would provide escort to those vehicles that are used to fetch petroleum products.
The government officials, who were claiming that sufficient supply of petroleum products would begin from today, said the supply was disturbed due to the indefinite bandh in Birgunj.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NPDA) has warned to launch protests if the government failed to meet the demand for petroleum products soon. The NPDA said it would pile pressure on the government to solve the problem. Issuing a release, NPDA said the shortage of petroleum products had caused dissatisfaction among the public.
