Kathmandu Valley logs 55 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday

Kathmandu valley recorded as many as 55 new cases of the coronavirus infection, on Sunday.

Of the newly infected persons, 37 are females while 18 are males.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 43 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported eight new cases while Bhaktapur logged four cases, today. At present, there are 1,124 active coronavirus cases in Kathmandu while number of the same in Lalitpur is 31 and that in Bhaktapur is 17.

500 people have succumbed to the contagion in Kathmandu while 161 fatalities have been reported in Lalitpur and 115 in Bhaktapur, so far.

Meanwhile, total number of people who have recovered from the disease in Kathmandu is 100,184 while 15,902 people have recovered in Lalitpur, and 9,112 in Bhaktapur.

Today, 119 new cases of Covid-19 surfaced in the country following which the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 271,925.

The nationwide death-toll has shifted to 2,038 with three fatalities logged today.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the five districts with zero live infections.
