Bid to seize seven petroleum tankers

Unknown persons today made attempts to seize seven tankers in various places, which were heading to Kathmandu carrying fuel from different places.
“Different unidentified persons tried to take five tankers of the NOC under control which were bound to the capital from Amlekhgunj and Bhairahawa,” in-charge of NOC route unit of Nepal Transport Independent Workers’ Organisation, Kumar Bartaula said.
He said that attempts were also made to seize four tankers, which were heading to Pokhara from Bhalbari of Bhairahawa, nearby Pokhara. However, the Pokhara-based APF took the tankers under control and sent them to the capital.
After their attempt failed, unidentified person hijacked the petrol tanker (Na 2 Kha 3644) from Mugling and took to Gorkha, however, police foiled the bid and took the tanker under control.
Unknown persons attempted to hijack a tanker heading to Kathmandu from Amlekhgunj from Kurintar and another tanker heading to the capital from Amlekhgunj from Chitwan yesterday. However, those efforts were foiled with the help of police.
