Madrid, March 17:
Kalu Uche headed in an 85th-minute equaliser to give Almeria a 2-2 draw against 10-man FC Barcelona in the Spanish league on Sunday.
The Nigeria striker got in front of defender Eric Abidal and headed in a corner that could damage Barcelona’s title hopes.
Barcelona failed to take advantage of Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss at Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, only moving within seven points of their rival instead of five. Madrid lead the league with 62 points, followed by Barcelona with 55 with 10 games remaining.
Bojan Krkic gave Barcelona the lead in the 17th minute. Almeria equalised from a corner kick in the 33rd when Ruben Pulido sent an angled header past Victor Valdes.
Three minutes after replacing Edmilson, Thierry Henry moved past right back Aitor Lopez Recarte with his first touch before feeding the streaking Samuel Eto’o in the 57th for a 2-1 lead.
But Barcelona were then reduced to 10 men in the 72nd when Gabriel Milito tripped Juan Manuel Ortiz for his second booking. Uche then scored the leveller in the 85th minute.
Villarreal continued their good form with a 2-0 win over Zaragoza. Also, it was: Getafe 2, Racing Santander 1; Espanyol 2, Mallorca 1; and Valladolid 0, Osasuna 0.
English Premiership
LONDON: Brian McBride scored the lone goal in Fulham’s 1-0 win over visiting Everton, giving the struggling club their first victory in the Premier League in more than a month.
Fulham’s attempt to climb out of the relegation zone was also helped by fellow struggling club Bolton’s 1-0 loss to 10-man Wigan. Manchester City rallied to beat Tottenham 2-1 with goals from Nedum Onuoh and Stephen Ireland. Manchester United returned to the top of the table topping Arsenal. Both clubs have 67 points but United lead on goal difference.

MILAN: Inter Milan beat Palermo 2-1 to maintain their six-point lead in Serie A, with Patrick Vieira scoring his first goal of the season.

Inter lead the league with 67 points and AS Roma, which defeated AC Milan 2-1 on Saturday, have 61. Juventus, who are in third place with 54 points, beat visiting Napoli 1-0.
