Bardiya, March 30:

CPN (Maoist) cadres have thrashed eight CPN (UML) cadres in Bardiya district.

The eight cadres led by the secretary at the party’s village committee Lanka Adhikari were thrashed by the cadres of CPN (Maoist)during an election campaign in Bardiya’s Thakurdwaa on Saturday night, CPN (UML) district party office Bardiya said.

“Our cadres, Jhakka Prasad Acharya, was also abducted by the Maoists, but he was able to escape from their captivity today morning,” CPN (UML) Bardiya district office secretary Indra Bahadur Rawal said.

Meanwhile, the Maoists beat up a UML cadre Ganesh Bista in Bardiya’s Beluwa-7 this morning, CPN (UML) said.
