130 new Covid-19 cases registered on Monday; nationwide tally hits 272,055

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 08
Nepal on Monday reported 130 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country.
With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 272,055.
Of the total cases, 61 are females while 69 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 58 cases surfaced in Kathmandu Valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Likewise, 194 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 268,266 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.6 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,744.
Seven fatalities from the disease were recorded in the past 24 hours. The current total nationwide death-toll stands at 2,045.
According to the health ministry, 3,333 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,096,750 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 92 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 271,925 with 119 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 106 million people have contracted the virus till date while 2.3 million deaths have been reported.
Meanwhile, over 78 million people have recovered from the infection while over 25 million cases are still active.
