KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 12

Nepal on Friday reported 127 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 272,557.

Of the total cases, 47 are females while 80 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 59 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases. Kathmandu district alone witnessed 44 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported 12 new cases while Bhaktapur logged three cases, today.

Likewise, 136 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 268,796 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.6 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,707.

Meanwhile, two more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 2,054.

According to the health ministry, 4,000 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,111,649 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 79 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 272,430 with 81 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, 2.37 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19 while over 108 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus.
