339 new cases take nationwide Covid-19 tally to 269,789

KATHMANDU: Nepal on Monday reported 339 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 269,789.

Of the total cases, 133 are females while 206 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 154 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.

Likewise, 401 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 264,538 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.1 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 3,240.

Meanwhile, ten more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 2,011.

According to the health ministry, 4,858 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,048,113 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 132 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Globally, over 99.5 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.13 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 71.5 million people have recovered from the disease and over 25.5 million cases are still active.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 269,450 with 270 newly confirmed cases.
