Pledge to help kids

KATHMANDU: The Shechen Hospital and Hospice in Kathmandu said it would spent Rs 3.1 million aid it received from the French Embassy on medical services and education of poor children. The hospital, established eight years ago, has been providing free health services to the poor and has funded the education of some 65 kids in several schools. — HNS

Swearing-in not sure

Kathmandu: Former CJ Bishwo Nath Upadhyaya said on Sunday that he was not sure when he would take the oath of office and secrecy as a member of the CA. “It is not certain if i would attend the CA,” he said. “As the political parties are engaged in power game,” he said, “I am not interested in politics.” Upadhyaya added that he had no interest in joining politics as he had not been in good health. “Since I am old now, I cannot work hard.” Upadhyaya added.

When asked when he would take the oath of the office, he replied, “I am not sure.” — HNS

TU office vandalised

KIRTIPUR: Students of Bachelor’s degree third year today vandalised the TU’s Office of the Controller of Examinations at Balkhu. The students vandalised the office alleging that out of syllabus questions were asked in the examination of the Nepali Language-204 (Poetry) subject. The students appearing in the exam at Trichandra Campus and RR Campus centres boycotted the exam and vandalised the Office. — RSS
