YCL imposes ‘tax’ on timber export

Sankhuwasabha, Sept 23:
Maoist-affiliated YCL cadres have started collecting ‘tax’ from timber traders at Baireni of Aankhibhui in the district.
The YCL cadres have imposed ‘tax’ on the supply of khayer timber to other districts, the traders said. The cadres began the donation collection drive after Sankhuwasabha DDC appointed contractors to collect export tax from timber traders.
“YCL cadres are imposing a ‘tax’ of Rs 7.5 per 10 kg of Khayer,” the traders said.
