Panels formed ahead of UML jamboree

Kathmandu, November 12:
The CPN-UML has formed 13 sub-committees to hold the eighth general convention of the party. The convention is scheduled to be held in Butwal on February 16-21.
The sub-committees were formed at a meeting of the party’s standing committee held yesterday.
UML standing committee member and coordinator of the main convention organising committee Bharat Mohan Adhikari said former general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal has been appointed coordinator for the reception committee, whereas Amrit Kumar Bohara and Ishwor Pokharel have been appointed coordinator for the convention representatives’ selection panel and chief of the publicity committee, respectively. Adhikari himself will be at
the helm of the finance committee.
Pradip Nepal and Pradip Gyawali are coordinators of the party’s central secretariat and cultural committee. Urmila Aryal has been tasked with arranging accommodations for convention representatives. Shanta Manavi will look after catering, while Keshav Badal will mobilise masses. Mukunda Neupane has been tasked with arranging transportation, while Bishnu Rimal has been entrusted with managing the stage of the convention.
While Devraj Ghimire will arrange health facilities to representatives, Ranadhwoj Kandangwa will mobilise volunteers.
He said leaders of the CPI (M), CPI, CPI-ML, BJP, Congress (I) and Janta Dal, representatives of the Chinese Communist Party, Russia and European countries will take part in the convention.
All foreign guests would be accommodated in Hokke Hotel in Lumbini. Other special invitees from within the country would be accommodated in various hotels in Bhairahawa.
