KATHMANDU:

Pretty girls decked up in their best winter wear and guys looking quite cool made their way to the KUSOM’s annual even KAF at the Jawalakhel ground on November 29. Youngsters were streaming in to have a great Saturday afternoon with friends as it had everything a youngster would want — good music, games and food.

New bands such as Last Minute and Mojo performed cover versions of popular numbers like La Bamba, Smoke on the water; Hard to handle and Crazy train. And it was the band from KU which performed its original composition Griha Yudha. Then it was time for Mt 8848 to entertain the crowds, which was a bit laid back at the beginning. When band requested the audience to jump and kick some dust, it got pretty exciting. Mt 8848 performed some of their well known numbers like Maski maski, Budheskal ko sathi and a special cover version of Birta ko chinho.

And this was just the beginning of an entertaining afternoon as the next band on stage was Cobweb. They sang their hit numbers like Maryo ni maryo, Mercedes Benz, while to the excitement of the crowd they even performed Another Brick in the Wall. Dam maro dam, a song that always gets the crowd singing, cheering and waving their hands, was sung by Robin and The New Revolution and was followed by Shiva ji. And finally Abhaya and the Steam Injuns entertained the crowds with Timro lagi and Kathmandu.

Great music was only a part of the fest as youngsters had a great time trying their skills and luck at various games from hitting cans and cricket stumps, to breaking the pot, while some were busy taking pictures at the Samsung stall. And for those who after having so much fun wanted to get some food various delicacies were also lined up. — HNS
