Panel to seek progress on PM’s commitments

Kathmandu, Jan 27:

The ‘Commitment Implementation Monitoring Special Committee’ of the legislature parliament today decided to write to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers (PMO), asking it to submit report on the Prime Minister’s commitments within three days.

The committee comprising 11 members of the eight major parties had been formed a few days ago to monitor the state of implementation of commitments made by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ in the parliament.

The Prime Minister M had made commitments to return seized property and dissolve the paramilitary structure of Young Communist League, among others, twice in the parliament.

The meeting of the committee held in Singha Durbar today also decided to nominate a coordinator from among the Unified CPN-Maoist and Nepali Congress representatives in the committee during its next meeting scheduled for February 1.
