Ringling Brothers A performer in the Boom-a-Ring show, part of the circus coming to Coney Island in June. O.K., the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus already came to town last month with considerable fanfare. So now it will be arriving yet again in a different part of town: Coney Island in Brooklyn, on June 18, for a summer run Sept. 7. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced on Friday that Ringling’s touring show — called by the circus the Gold Unit, but officially titled the Coney Island Boom-a-ring — will raise its air-conditioned tent on Surf Avenue and West 21st Street, to the west of the Brooklyn Cyclones’ ballpark, on land owned by Taconic Investment Partners. “For the first time the Greatest Show on Earth is coming to one of the greatest neighborhoods in New York City — Coney Island,” Mr. Bloomberg said. “It’s all part of our program that we’re committed to restoring Coney Island’s vibrancy.” — The New York Times
