NAWALPARASI: Life in Tarai districts was adversely affected on Thursday as well due to indefinite bandh called by Tharuhat Joint Struggle Committee. Police detained eight agitators in Nawalparasi and escorted stranded vehicles to their destination. Agitating Tharus padlocked Sukrouli, Hakui, Amraut, Banhariya and Shwathi VDC offices in the district. Tharuhat supporters gheraoed Baijapur, Bankatti, Gavanpurwa police posts demanding the release of five of their cadres, threatening to over-run the Gavanpurwa police post.
