Two held for kidnap bid:
KATHMANDU: Police arrested Nabaraj Sapkota and Suman Sitaula on charge of attempting to kidnap Bijay Dahal from his residence at Phutung VDC-5 on Tuesday. The duo was taking Dahal in a cab with plate number Ba 1 Cha 8554 when police arrested them at Balaju. Taxi driver Jit Bahadur Rai is in custody, police said. — HNS
SC fiat against transfer:
Kathmandu: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered government authorities not to transfer about 300 junior staffers under the Customs Department. A division bench of justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi and Hari Jung Sijapati issued the order to the Ministry of General Administration, Postal Service Department, Department of Archaeology, Department of Health and several other tax offices in Kathmandu. The order came in response to a writ jointly filed by the Customs Department staffers. — HNS
New parking rules:
KATHMANDU: Public vehicles in the Valley are required to park only in the parking stand from now on. Surendra Bahadur Pal, Police Superintendent of Valley Traffic Police Office told a press conference on Tuesday that strict measures have been taken as rules were not being strictly followed. — HNS
