NRB guv trial KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Sunday summoned the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority for the final hearing in the corruption case lodged against former governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Bijaya Nath Bhattarai, and executive director Surendra Man Pradhan. A division bench of Justices Bala Ram KC and Mohan Prakash Sitaula issued the order to call the CIAA in the hearing. The bench also scheduled the final hearing of the case on May 31. — HNS

Rhino on rampage NAWALPARASI: A person was injured on Sunday afternoon when he was attacked by a rhino in Goluwa Village Development Committee along the bank of Narayani River. According to the police, 48-year-old Om Bahadur Sinjali of Umarbarti VDC was injured in the attack while he had gone for fishing. He is undergoing treatment in Madhyabindu Hospital at Jhanda Bazaar. The police said the rhino had come out of Chitwan National Park. — HNS

Nepali dies in Qatar DAILEKH: A Nepali citizen recently died in Qatar. Ram Bahadur KC, 30, a resident of Jagannath Village Development Committee of Dailekh district who had gone to Qatar for better job opportunities last year, died of Hepatitis-B recently, informed Laxmi Adhikari, KC's friend. "Nobody has made an effort to send the body to Nepal so far," said KC, adding that the Nepali embassy in Qatar was showing no concern about the death of a Nepali citizen. — HNS

One killed in mishap JHAPA: A person was killed when a bus hit him at Surunga along the East-West Highway in Jhapa district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Bhakta Bahadur Subba, 60, a resident of Surunga, the police said, adding that investigation into the incident was underway. — HNS
