Nepal gets majority to lead govt

KATHMANDU: A majority of the members in the Constituent Assembly on Sunday expressed their support to CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal to lead the new coalition government. Chairman of the CA Subas Chandra Nembang said that he received the signatures of 350 CA members in support of Nepal to elect him as the new Prime Minister of the country. Twenty two parties representing in the 601-member CA have submitted the signatures of the lawmakers informing the CA chairman that they support Nepal as the PM of the new coalition government. After receiving the signatures, Nembang said that he would call a meeting of the task management committee and take necessary steps to elect Nepal as PM at the earliest.
