DADELDHURA: Mohan Bohara, 8, a second grader at Mahadev Higher Secondary School in Bajhang district has lived to tell the tale of the socket bomb which exploded near his school on Tuesday. Bohara who was injured in the incident is undergoing treatment in Team Hospital in Dadeldhura. “I had gone to the forest near our school during our lunch break with my friends. My friend Rajan Bohara found an object like a makeshift lamp which exploded with an ear shattering bang,” recalled Mohan. “When I gained consciousness, I found myself lying in a hospital bed,” Mohan said, adding, “I knew that Rajan had already died.” Two other students had also sustained minor injuries who have already returned home after undergoing treatment in Bajhang district hospital. “My son has sustained shrapnel injuries in parts of the body but I have not been able to take him to a better hospital to remove them,” Mohan’s father regretted. Meanwhile, Dr Arun Buda of Team Hospital said that the shrapnels could only be removed through surgery.
