Tributes to Dr Joshi

KATHMANDU: A condolence meeting was organised on Saturday to pay tributes to Prof Dr Mangal Raj Joshi, chief trustee of National Astrology Service Committee and chairman of Panchanga Committee. Speaking on the occasion, Rajparishad standing committee member, Dr Swami Prapannacharya, said the society should not forget the contributions made by Joshi. Various speakers expressed condolences over the demise of Joshi, who died on March 2. — RSS

Eight persons honoured

KATHMANDU: Minister for Information and Communications, Tanka Dhakal, honoured eight persons with the Civil Service Honour-2005 on Sunday. The awards were conferred by Nepal Youth Society to mark the 55th birthday of the Queen. Those honoured were Ananta Raj Pandey, Dr Prabha Basnet, Rajesh Raj Dali, Dr Janak Lal Karmacharya, Bal Bahadur Pariyar, Dr Ram Narayan Shaha, Indra Prasad Neupane and Arjun Mainali. — RSS
