KATHMANDU: Suryansh Chaudhary won the TBS Junior Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club on Friday. Played under the stroke play format over the nine holes, Suryansh brought in the best card of 49 gross points to claim the overall championship and the Under-12 section crown as well. Kiran Reid scored 60 points to finish runner up. Suryansh’s elder brother, Karan Chaudhary clinched the senior (U-16) boys’ section title with 55 points, while Calumn Reid came second with 54 points. Khusal Akhtar scored 72 points to win the Under-8 section trophy, ahead of Hakim Huntley who scored 75. In girls’ section, Jojo Whiteside won the Under-15 crown with the score of 67, while Aditi Ghimire came second with 71. Tenzing Jigme Sherpa won a special Award. In all, 16 golfers took part in the tournament organised jointly by the Gokarna Golf Club and The British School. Gokarna pros Deepak Acharya and Pashupati Sharma along with Barry Lord, Head of Physical Education at The British School, gave away prizes to the winners.
