KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhi on Thursday suggested lawyers to discuss all the matters pending in the Supreme Court including the sub-judice matters to pass its verdicts as soon as possible. While hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) challenging the parliamentary hearing of judges of the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice suggested the lawyers to take-up the issues in public. “This issue should be taken up in public and we will decide after that,” advocate Chandra Kanta Gyawali quoted Rayamajhi as saying. A three-member full bench comprising of CJ Rayamajhi, justices Krishna Prasad Upadhayaya and Mohan Prakash Sitaula have been examining the case. Meanwhile, Amicus curiae lawyers Surya Dhungel, Guna Nidhi Neupane, Purna Man Shakaya and Yuba Raj Sangroula will assist the bench whether or not to intervene into the issue. Petitioners Bal Krishna Neupane, Chandra Kanta Gyawali and Raj Kumar Thapa were also present in the hearing. The CJ also sought written arguments of the lawyers as soon as possible. In the beginning, the CJ joked whether he can participate in this hearing or not, as he had opposed the parliamentary hearing. “Then when we said it was a constitutional issue he said he was not bias on the issue and would continue with it,” Gyawali added.
