Three injured in blast NEPALGUNJ: Three persons sustained shrapnel injuries when a socket bomb exploded at Indrapur of Banke on Saturday afternoon. The injured: Buddhi KC (55), Jaya KC (26) and Sudip KC (4), are undergoing treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj. The bomb went off at the house of one Jagadish Teli which had been vacant for over a year. Banke DSP Raj Kumar Baidabar informed that the investigation into the incident was underway. —HNS Youth abducted KHOTANG: Two unidentified persons abducted Krishna Khadka, a youth of Chhitapokhari VDC-1, Khotang on Friday afternoon. DSP Rupam Lama said that the duo forcibly took Khadka out of his home saying that they had to talk to him. According to Lama, the abductors tied Khadka’s hands and herded him towards an unidentified location. “Teams of police have been mobilised from Bhojpur and different police posts of Khotang to track down the abductors,” he said. —HNS Looters kill priestess MAHENDRANAGAR: A gang of looters attacked and killed Janaki Upreti, 83, a priestess in the local Kalika Temple of Bhimdutta Municipality, on Saturday. She came under attack while she was busy sweeping early in the morning. Upreti, who was critically injured in the attack, died at 11 am, her family source said. She had sustained bruises in her head. The looters looted jewelry from her, the police said, adding that an investigation into the incident was already underway. — HNS
