DIPAYAL: District Police Office Doti made three robbers public during a press conference here today. The three, who had robbed a businessman of Rs 2.6 million on Budar-Kerabari section of the Bhimdutta Highway on August 4, were held yesterday. They had looted Rs 2,583,000 from Lalan Prasad Shah (Gupta), a Dhangadhi-based businessman, at gunpoint. Those arrested have been identified as Tikadutta Bhatta, Dipendra Bahadur Shahi and Hiradevi Gautam — all from Kailali. Of the looted amount, the police have recovered Rs 1,653,000 from the trio. Two other accused —Birkha Bahadur Bhandari and Khadakraj Gautam —are still at large, DSP Chiranjivi Devkota said. Bhatta, Lalan’s driver, was earlier arrested by the police on the charge of human trafficking. He had come in the contact of other accused while in detention, police said. After his release then, Bhatta had worked for Lalan as a jeep driver.
