‘Talks with parties on’ KHOTANG: UCPN-Maoist vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’ said on Saturday that discussion regarding statute drafting was underway with CPN-UML and Nepali Congress. Talking to local body staffers in Diktel, Shrestha said that drafting of statute was the prime concern of the hour. “A new political agreement among political parties was needed to this effect,” he added. On the occasion, he also urged the civil servants to ensure service delivery to the people in order to prevent the state from being a failure. — HNS Woman on fast dies RAJBIRAJ: Anitadevi Mukhiya, 25, who was observing a fast for the birth of a son, died on Saturday evening. A resident of Sakarpura-7 in Saptari, Mukhiya had been on a 35-hour fast on the occasion of Jitiya Parba. She was rushed to Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj after she fell unconscious. Police said she died shortly after her admission there. — HNS One buried to death DIPAYAL: Bharat Kathayat, a resident of Kadamandau VDC-8 in Doti district died while other five locals were injured when they were buried in a land mass in Gairagoan VDC-1 on Saturday. Another local Lal Bahadur Kathayat has been missing. The injured have been identified as Ganesh Bhul, Bal Bahadur Kathayat, Dambar Khadka, Gajendra Kathayat and Chet Bahadur Kathayat. They are undergoing treatment at District Hospital. The mishap occurred while they were repairing a canal in the village. — HNS
