Former Justice dies KATHMANDU: Narendra Neupane, former Supreme Court Justice, died in Kathmandu Model Hospital at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Seventy-nine year old Neupane had long been ill. He retired from service in 1998. — HNS Four more H1N1 cases KATHMANDU: Four more cases of swine flu (H1N1) have been reported in the country, Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) stated on Tuesday. Three men and a woman, aged 23 to 42, who recently returned from a foreign tour have shown the symptoms.The cases of the like have now gone up to 35. Last couple of weeks saw six such cases confirmed, press statement of MoHP read. — HNS Judges for Dashain KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court, today, assigned 11 judges for hearing habeas corpus petitions during Dashain holidays. The full court meeting assigned justices Prem Sharma, Balaram KC, Girishchandar Lal, Gauri Dhakal, Prakash Wosti, Bharat Raj Upreti, Tahir Ali Ansari, Rana Bahadur Bam, Ram Prasad Shrestha, Mohan Prakash Sitaula and Top Bahadur Magar for the purpose. The general court proceedings of the Supreme Court and Appellate Courts will remain closed for two weeks beginning September 19. — HNS Norwegian AG leaves KATHMANDU: Norwegian Auditor General, Joergen Kosma, today said that independent auditing agency was needed in Nepal for ensuring transparency and put a check on corruption. Kosma was on a three-day visit to strengthen mutual ties between the two countries. — HNS
